These treatments are available to our patients during panchakarma retreats or on an outpatient basis:

Abhyanga:

Full body massage using generous amounts of warm, herbal infused oils selected for your particular constitution and condition. Invigorating and revitalising abhyanga massage stimulates the marma points and thus helps clear stagnation by increasing the flow of energy. Abhyanga is the best treatment to reduce vata in the nervous system.

Swedana:

Full body steam bath using only the purest distilled water in our state of the art 'Hyperthermic Chamber'. The chamber has thermostatic control to maintain exactly the right temperature and as the head remains outside, the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Swedana opens the micro channels in the body, liquidises toxins and mobilises them to move out of the body. An excellent detoxification treatment which improves circulation and reduces vata.

Shirodhara:

Pouring of a continuous stream of warm, medicated oil on the forehead. This treatment is excellent to pacify the symptoms of stress as it reduces cortisol and other stress hormones present in the body.  Helps relieve headaches, insomnia, poor concentration and the causes of hypertension eg: anxiety, tension etc. Creates a profound sense of deep relaxation and wellbeing.

Pindasweda:

Specialised full body heat massage using linen bolus filled with warming and detoxifying herbs. Reduces musculo skeletal pain in problem areas, reduces toxins and water retention through stimulation of the lymphatic system. Excellent treatment to increase circulation and reduce fat tissue and cellulite.

Heart Dhara:
A continuous flow of warm medicated oils and herbal decoctions are poured onto the heart area of the chest within a ring of dough. This treatment supports the heart in many conditions including palpitations, hypertension and stress. It reduces anxiety and fear and encourages a sense of groundedness in the mind and emotions.

Netra Basti:
Warm ghee eye baths are given to each eye within a ring of dough. This is the perfect strengthening treatment for tired, strained eyes. This treatment has a relaxing effect on the eyes and removes impurities.

Kati Basti:
Application of warm, medicated oil to specific areas of pain on spine and lower back within a ring of dough. Specifically to reduce particular areas of musculo skeletal pain and discomfort.

Janu Basti:
Same as Kati Basti but specifically for cracking, painful knees that require strengthening.

Nasya/Shiromarmani:
Sinus clearing treatment including facial massage, stimulation of marma points of the head, gentle steam and introduction of medicated oils to the nasal passages. Clears toxins from the head and gives a sense of emotional and mental clarity. Helpful in all conditions above the clavicle including congestion, headaches and allergies.

Basti Shodana:
Elimination and purificatory rectal basti using a mixture of medicated oils and herbal decoctions. Eliminates longstanding toxic wastes and excess doshas, particularly vata, from the colon. Strengthens and tones the musculature of the colon wall. Provides a strong sense of groundedness and pacifies vata-type negative emotions such as fear, anxiety and stress. Administers medicine to the whole body via the colon.

Matra Basti:
Smaller rectal basti using medicated oil to support, nourish and lubricate the colon wall. Also helps to pacify vata-type symptoms.
£15 (minimal time in clinic as oil is usually held for a number of hours at home)
