Diabetes Mellitus

Diabetes Mellitus also known as 'Type 2 diabetes' accounts for 85% of all cases. It is usually seen in people over 40 years of age in the white population and over 25 years of age in the black/south asian population. Symptoms may include excess urination, excessive thirst, thrush or genital itching, slowly healing wounds, blurred vision and fatigue. Onset is usually very gradual and may be asymptomatic and therefore undiagnosed for up to 10 years. Eventually however, the symptoms may become so pronounced that the severe lack of energy becomes debilitating. This lack of energy arises because the nutrients needed to produce energy cannot enter the individual cells of the body. According to Ayurveda, the nutrients cannot enter the cell because of a build-up of toxins on the cell membranes. These toxins can be created by many things, usually a different combination of things for each individual. Ayurveda Lifestyle can identify which combination of factors have caused the problem for you and offers proven treatments to reduce the level of toxicity. As the toxicity is reduced the penetration of nutrients at the cell membrane is gradually increased and a healthy balance regained. All treatments use only natural substances and are free from harmful side-effects.
